Wheelers Family Auto Group has been family run from day one. Here is how it started, and who leads it today.
How it started
Dan W. Wheeler started the business in 1964 while he was working as a GM district manager.
In June 1965 he hired Ann as a filing clerk. Ann went on to become the dealer, and one of only a handful of female car dealers in the entire United States.
Her standard for how customers and employees should be treated still guides the business today.
Who leads Wheelers today
Ann and Dan's children lead the family business today. It's still family run, and the people who work here are treated like family too.

Our story, year by year
1964
Dan W. Wheeler starts the business while working as a GM district manager.
1965
Ann joins as a filing clerk and later becomes the dealer.
1995
The family adds Crown Oldsmobile, Pontiac and Cadillac.
2005
Ann adds the GMC franchise in Marshfield.
2011
Mary Jo and Daniel add Medford and the Auto Repair & Tire Center.
2015 to 2016
Wheelers grows into Wisconsin Rapids.
2017
Abbotsford joins the Wheelers family.
2020
Wheelers Chevrolet of Merrill opens.
